The feeding, proper housing and health of suckler sows, piglets and fattening pigs are decisive for economically successful pork production, and are meant to guarantee Swiss consumers a product, i.e. pork, of the highest quality. The key research areas of Agroscope are meat quality, feeding, animal-friendly housing systems and animal health, the aim being to develop the most important production-technology and environmental parameters as well as approaches for solving pig-production problems, and to update feeding recommendations on a regular basis.
