Ecotoxicological Effects of PPPs

Ökotox Auswirkungen Landschaft

When PPPs are used in agriculture they do not necessarily remain in the treated field, but may enter other environmental compartments (surface waters, semi-natural habitats, soil) via other routes of entry (e.g., drift, run-off). A good understanding of ecotoxicological impacts is an essential requirement for assessing both the risks of PPPs in the environment and those of risk-mitigation measures. As part of the approval process, we are responsible for assessing the risk to beneficials and soil macroorganisms in the treated area. In addition, we conduct experiments under field conditions in collaboration with other Research Groups to investigate the effects of PPPs on non-target organisms.
