Habitat Diversity

Both natural site conditions and agricultural management shape agricultural landscapes and affect the occurrence of different habitats. A large number of different habitats is an important prerequisite for overall species richness in a landscape.

For this indicator, the number of habitat types per survey square is calculated.

‘Habitat diversity’ indicator: Number of habitat types in the agricultural landscape per survey square; average ± standard error. LZ: Lowland zone; UZ: Upland zone; LM: Lower mountain zone (mountain zones I and II); UM: Upper mountain zone (mountain zones III and IV), SA: Summer-grazing area.
