A Food Challenge, Seasoned with Agroscope Knowledge

Ammann

How can we feed ourselves in the most climate- and environmentally friendly way possible? The Swiss TV channel SRF’s ‘Einstein’ show explores this issue in two programmes, on 10 and 17 February 2022 – with the participation of experts from Agroscope.

In the first programme on 10 February at 9pm, subjects will attempt to put together as sustainable a menu as possible. The second programme on 17 February at 9pm will reveal who has pulled off the challenge most successfully, where the stumbling blocks lie, and what a good choice is based on. In both shows, various experts – among them Agroscope employees – are interviewed, and provide background information.

Targeted Imports and Less Food Waste Reduce ‘Foodprint’

Agroscope calculated that the environmental impact can be improved if food is imported from countries of origin with especially environmentally friendly agricultural production systems. The avoidance of food loss and waste is even more effective in achieving this aim.
