Genebanks are resources for germplasm and genetic conservation. However role of the genebanks isn’t limited to the conservation of biological material. The Swiss national gene bank conserved record of phenological observation conducted during renewing of seed stock of the collection. This collection of phenological data spread on more than 60 years. Theses data can be used to get a long term picture of the evolution of the collection material.
