From the plain through to the Alpine region, the 'Forage Production and Grassland Systems' Research Group conducts research for site-adapted, multifunctional grassland systems combining the efficient production of high-quality farm-produced grassland forage with the delivery of a variety of ecosystem services. For yield formation, the development of temporary-ley mixtures and stock management of natural meadows, ecological processes are mobilised to use resources sustainably and to continuously adapt grassland systems to new requirements.
