Sweet potatoes are susceptible to numerous viral, fungal and bacterial diseases. Certain of these diseases also affect potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.). Agroscope is interested in the risk of transmission of these diseases from sweet potatoes to ‘regular’ potatoes. To this end, our teams work in partnership with sweet-potato producers in Switzerland to ensure the phytosanitary quality of the production plots, and to identify the possible presence of emergent diseases.
