«IP+»: Research to Reduce the Use of Plant-Protection Products in Arable Cropping Systems

18-16-19-06-04

The Federal Government Action Plan on Plant Protection aims to reduce pesticide-related risks and promote the sustainable use of PPPs, e.g. by combining different non-chemical means of plant-pest, disease and weed control. Integrated crop-protection strategies must provide new approaches by combining methods such as augmentative and conservation biological control, as well as utilising plant cover, cover crops and intercropping, reduced tillage, etc.

‘IP+’ will develop such strategies by adopting a co-innovation approach with a network of innovative farmers, within the context of a cropping system based on the principles of agroecology and conservation agriculture.ach with a network of innovative farmers, within the context of a cropping system based on the principles of agroecology and conservation agriculture.
