In Switzerland, on average 10 bee poisoning incidents occur every year. There are different causes for these poisonings. A direct relation to pesticide application can not be established in all cases. Often there are other factors, e.g. bee pathology factors (Varroa) or erroneous beekeeping management (bee feeding shortage). In order to prevent such incidents or to claim compensation it is important to find out the reasons for the poisonings.
