Seed-Testing Laboratory Again Fully ISTA-Accredited

Since 2000, the Agroscope Seed-Testing Laboratory has been accredited by the ISTA (International Seed Testing Association). This means that it is officially allowed to examine seed samples from Swiss and foreign seed merchants as well as from Agroscope projects, and issue ISTA certificates, which are required in the international seed trade. In this way, Agroscope helps ensure that the Swiss agricultural sector has access to germinable, healthy seed. Reaccreditation is periodically necessary to ensure that the laboratory can maintain its high quality standards.

Seed testing

Every year, Agroscope’s seed-testing laboratory analyses the quality of more than 6000 seed samples from over 200 different plant species. These analyses are pivotal in ensuring that only seed of impeccable quality is marketed and sold.
