Proper Horsekeeping in Agriculture

Hatung von Equiden in der Schweiz

Part and parcel of the constant change in the horsekeeping sector are new requirements from policy-makers and society that must be met by farmers in order to benefit from the high profitability of this branch of activity. Agroscope develops and tests solutions to horsekeeping issues, and examines them objectively as to their practicality and animal-friendliness. Here, parameters of well-being such as the behaviour and health of the animals are taken into account, in addition to profitability, resource-efficiency, environmental compatibility, legal requirements and agricultural-policy interests.  A well-established knowledge-transfer channel, the Agroscope Swiss National Stud Farm conveys findings directly to practitioners as well as to training facilities, industry and public authorities.
