Project Title:
Improving the Efficiency of Greenhouse Crops
Strategic Research Field:
Cultivation methods and systems for plant production
These days, greenhouse crops are grown in production systems considered to be indispensable. Produced intensively with the aid of advanced techniques, their impact on the environment is sometimes called into question. The aim of this project is to test solutions (LED lighting, use of methanation by-products as fertiliser, etc.) for reducing the environmental impact of greenhouse crops, either by reducing the resources used per kg of harvest, or by limiting losses associated with biotic or abiotic stress, thereby increasing yields. As well as being cost-effective, the solutions tested must preserve product quality. Research will be carried out in both a conventional and an organic greenhouse.
