The Feed Database is based on the consolidation of updated and expanded data from the ‘Feed Recommendations and Nutritive Value Charts for Ruminants’ (Roughage Sector, 1999 and 2006 editions) and ‘Feed Recommendations and Nutritive Value Charts for Pigs’ (Raw Materials Sector, 2004 edition), which were and are produced by the research activity of Agroscope and various institutes of tertiary education. Two further animal species – horses and poultry – have also been incorporated. Data of Swiss origin have been given priority wherever possible. Additions to data originate in the first instance from nutritive-value charts of the DLG (Germany), CVB (Netherlands), INRA (France) and WPSA (World Poultry Science Association). Agroscope is responsible for updating the data.
