Developed as a joint project between Agroscope and several partners, the new Berry-Scouting database is now online, enabling the first interactive comparison of raspberry and strawberry varieties using various parameters.
Offering a novel approach to berry research, the Berry-Scouting database provides a platform for the interactive comparison of raspberry and strawberry varieties. Growers, researchers and farmers can now analyse specific varieties in terms of traits such as taste, resistance, yield, and growth under different environmental conditions. Funded by the Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG), this unique resource was developed through close collaboration between Agroscope, the Swiss Fruit Association (SOV), FiBL, and various Swiss cantons. The database is publicly accessible as of now and aims to support berry production through informed variety-selection based on concrete data.
