Awards for the best Swiss spirits

Nine distilleries were awarded the title “Distillery of the Year 2023” at an awards ceremony on 13 October 2023, with 167 products receiving a gold medal and 415 a silver medal.

Every two years, the Swiss distilling industry meets for DistiSuisse, the national awards for the best spirits produced in Switzerland. This year, 135 distilleries took up the challenge and submitted 790 products. Nine distilleries were crowned “Distillery of the Year 2023” at the awards ceremony in Basel, with 167 products receiving a gold medal and 415 a silver medal.

The sheer number of participants and the variety of samples submitted are remarkable – the awards have never seen so many entries before. Besides the typical Swiss fruit brandies, almost all Swiss producers now also make alcoholic beverages of non-Swiss origin such as rum, gin, whisky and vodka.
