The permit for the field trial requested by the UZH was granted by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) in June 2019 for barley and in March 2020 for maize. The first field season began in 2020. The maize trial ended in 2022, the barley trial in 2023. The monitoring of the former trial areas is still in progress.
