Protecting the Climate and Using Resources Efficiently

18.17.19.07.04

Measures for reducing greenhouse-gas emissions on farms are developed, and evaluated in terms of their reduction potential by means of life-cycle assessment methodologies and sustainability assessments. The measures are tested on 30 commercial farms. In addition, measures for the efficient use of limited resources such as energy, water, phosphorus, potassium and soils are devised and evaluated.

The prerequisites for a future production system that prioritises climate- and resource-friendly agriculture are determined. In cooperation with extension, we provide scientific findings to agricultural practice.
