Farm Accountancy Data Network

Every year, Agroscope’s Farm Accountancy Data Network publishes the agricultural income and income per family work unit for the whole of the Swiss agricultural sector, as well as for the lowland, hill and mountain regions. Additional results highlight the economic situation of specific farm types and farm enterprises. The random sample for ‘income situation’ and the sample for ‘farm management’, each with around 2000 farms, form the basis for this.
Statistical methods are used to investigate the multi-year trend for profitability, productivity and risk exposure of these farms. The influence of the use of technology on productivity is of especial interest.
