Sustainable Pest Control in Arable Farming and Grassland

18-05-16-05-01

Today, a wide range of tools are available in integrated plant protection for minimising the use and risks of chemical plant protection products and safeguarding yields. Despite this, the actual potential of these non-chemical alternatives for agricultural practice has not yet been sufficiently explored or harnessed. The challenge consists in

  • increasing the efficacy and reliability of alternative methods, and
  • combining a bundle of individual measures into a coordinated strategy that can be adopted and implemented in practice.

In the present project, we develop innovative approaches – designed with sustainability in mind – for controlling native and alien pests in arable farming and grassland.
