‘agroscope’ Magazine, September 2026: Highlighting Future Prospects
The current issue focuses on digitalisation in the agriculture and food sector. It also deals with the environmental impact of foods, the economic viability of goat milk production and new Agroscope infrastructure in Posieux (Canton of Fribourg).
The latest ‘agroscope’ Magazine focuses on the key topic of digitalisation, examining progress in the digital transformation of the Swiss agriculture and food sector since 2018 as well as the necessary measures for its continued successful implementation. A further article shows how digital systems in precision farming can contribute to the targeted and efficient use of plant-protection products.
New laboratory buildings now operational
In addition, the following topics are examined:
- New reference values for the environmental impacts of eight Swiss foods and their importance for the ecological assessment of products.
- The economic viability of Swiss goat milk production and current findings from agricultural economics.
- How site-appropriate grazing management with cattle and sheep can help curb shrub encroachment in the mountain region.
And of course we mustn’t forget the completion of the new laboratory building in Posieux (Canton of Fribourg) as an important milestone in Agroscope’s site strategy – or fail to address the implementation of costcutting measures.

Agroscope magazine will be published several times a year. It is available free of charge in three languages (German, French and English) both in print and in PDF format on the Agroscope website. Each issue of agroscope will contain highlights from Agroscope research. The Annual Report will be published in one issue per year.
