Switzerland’s biodiversity strategy aims to “preserve and promote biodiversity and its services for the economy and society”.
Among other things, the Biodiversity Action Plan stipulates the evaluation of how various federal subsidies affect biodiversity. As part of a research project commissioned by the Federal Office for Agriculture and in collaboration with various research divisions, Agroscope examines the effect of security-of-supply contributions and tariff-based border protection on biodiversity in Switzerland.
