Objective

To gather and process basic farm and work economics data for administration, research, agricultural extension and practice. Conduct an annual statistical evaluation of the accounting data and analyse income trends.

• Specific objectives

  • Gather and process data for the Income Situation Sample (SpE)
  • Gather and process data for the Farm Management Sample (SpB)
  • Statistically evaluate the SpE data and analyse economic trends in Swiss agricultural production
  • Conduct an annual statistical evaluation of the partial costs based on the SpB data
  • Regularly update the full costs based on the SpB data and partial and full cost calculations.
  • Further develop the SpE and SpB (e.g. to better map rarely grown crops, differentiate cropping systems, show legal entities).
  • Annually update the cost catalogue data
  • In addition, gather and process working time data relating to agricultural production

Expected outcomes

The solid data base enables farm managers to make better management decisions and contributes to the creation of a transparent, fact- and evidence-based agricultural policy.
