Objective

• To evaluate the economic and ecological impact of agricultural, environmental and trade policy measures
• To make policy recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of agricultural, environmental and trade policy instruments
  

• Specific objectives

  • Determine how the current direct payment system and the updated version for the next phase of agricultural policy (AP30+) impact agricultural structures, agricultural production, the environment, income and work, and highlight synergies and trade-offs
  • Determine how policy and private sector measures impact the eco-efficiency of agricultural production and highlight synergies and trade-offs
  • Evaluate the effects of trade policy measures on import and export volumes and prices, competitiveness, and the environmental impact of the sector and of food trade flows
  • Evaluate the effect of supply and demand shocks on agricultural production, environment and income, and derive ensuing courses of action
  • Show how agricultural, environmental and trade policy measures can be further developed and highlight synergies and trade-offs

Expected outcomes

A set of effective and efficient agricultural, environmental and trade policy instruments for achieving constitutional and statutory objectives.
