In Vitro Nuclear Stock and Varietal Identification
Agroscope’s in vitro nuclear-stock collection is tasked with maintaining over 350 varieties of ancient and modern plants (kitchen-garden, viticultural, arboricultural, medicinal, forest, etc.). Traditionally, these phytogenetic resources are multiplied vegetatively, and it is essential to create environments specific to their different stages of conservation (establishment, growth, multiplication, rooting), as well as to ensure their phytosanitary status. The aim of the project is to create a database containing the molecular profiles of the conserved varieties in order to ensure their accurate identification. In this process, the selection of the markers used will play a crucial role. This project will allow us to authenticate the varieties in the nuclear-stock collection, ensure their traceability, and eliminate duplicates.
