RESO Final Meeting 2024

On 24 September 2024 the Schweizer Obstverband (Swiss Fruit Association), Agroscope and the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL welcomed delegates to the fourth and final symposium on the research project ‘Resilient Varieties for Sustainable Swiss Fruit Production (‘RESO’)’.

After four years of intensive research and practical field trials, the project team presented the latest trial results at the Agricultural Centre of St Gallen in Flawil.

The findings of the last four years have brought the project closer to its goal of developing reliable, speedy and resource-efficient methods for quantifying the robustness of fruit varieties. Participants will produce a final report to make this knowledge widely available.

After stimulating discussions between the participants the event came to a successful conclusion with a tour of the cherry and plum orchard recently established on site as part of the RESO project, as well as a tasting of new apple and plum varieties.
