Plant Microbiome

Forschungsprogramm Mikrobielle Biodiversitaet Mikrobium
Microorganisms associated with plants and their functions in the plant and in the ecosystem, adapted according to [1].

The ‘Plant Microbiome' work package investigates the microbial biodiversity present on the plant surfaces and in the plant tissues of ryegrass, potatoes and apples. The natural microbiome will be analysed in terms of its impact on the protection of the plant from phytopathogenic agents and its resistance to environmental or anthropogenic influences. The aim is to be able to make targeted use of the plant microbiome to inhibit pathogens.
