Projects
Viticulture
Vine selection and ampelography
To identify, select and distribute clones (or selections ) of autochtonous varieties or of varieties traditionally cultivated in Switzerland that have agronomical and oenological characteristics of interest, whilst seeking to maintain a large intravarietal diversity.
Vine Physiology and Management, Production Quality
To study the influence of wine water status on the various grape varieties, particularly their physiological characteristics and the grape- and wine quality.
Analysis of wine, fruit and plant
Chemical analyses of Musts and Wines
Analytical, microbiological and sensory follow-up of ACW’s viticulture material, plants in stock (rootstock, scions) and of finished wine (ageing of musts, grape harvesting, fermentation...).
Research and Development in Must and Wine area and their analytical tools
Develop and improve multiparameter methods of analysis, especially infrared spectrophotometry combined with chemometric techniques.
Accreditation of Wine Laboratories in Changins
Maintain the accreditation status in accordance with the ISO/CEI 17025 standards of our laboratories of Changins for analysis of wines, fruit and plants (AVFP) which carry out chemical analyses of beverages of viti-vinicultural origin.
Wine technology
Wine Quality Management
To develop techniques that will enable a type of wine to be created that is at the same time of recognized quality and high nutritive characteristics (natural antioxidants).
Microbial Quality Safeguarding in Fruit Juices and in Wine
In an attempt to improve juice, wine and distillate quality we are developing detection systems for desirable und undesirable microorganisms.
