Agricultural LCA platform

The Agricultural Life Cycle Assessment Platform is an informal public event organized by ART for the exchange of information on the life cycle assessment of agricultural systems and products.

Target group

The Agricultural Life Cycle Assessment Platform is designed for specialists in Switzerland and other countries interested in the life cycle assessment of agricultural systems and products. The targeted specialists will be working as researchers, advisers, representing interests, as opinion-formers or within authorities.
An indirect interest in agricultural systems and products is also relevant, for example via the food chain from the consumer’s point of view or in connection with development planning in rural areas.

Content

The Agricultural Life Cycle Assessment Platform is intended to stimulate discussion of

  • LCA data
  • LCA methods
  • LCA results

Agricultural production will be considered at the following levels: product, crop rotation, branch of farming, farm, region or economic sector.
Expansion of the discussion topics into neighbouring areas such as processing into food or industrial products, the nutrition sector or other activities in the primary sector is desirable, as long as the clear link with agricultural production is preserved.

Form

The Agricultural Life Cycle Assessment Platform is a one-day event devoted to a single topic. It is intended as a forum for direct scientific exchanges and personal communication.
A balance between presentations of work undertaken by ART and current work at other institutions is hoped for. As well as the presentations there will be provision for workshop discussions and debates.

Organizational

The Agricultural Life Cycle Assessment Platform is a ART event and will be announced in the events calendar and on the ART Website. Please contact Gérard Gaillard if you would like to receive a personal invitation.
One full-day event per year is planned.
The discussion languages will be German, French and English.
A contribution to expenses will be charged to cover printed matter, lunch and transport.

Presentations

The presentations are available in German:
