The Organizing Committee is pleased to invite you to attend the 1st International Symposium on ‘Medicinal, Aromatic and Nutraceutical Plants from Mountainous Areas' to be held from 6th to 9th July 2011 in Saas-Fee, Switzerland. The symposium is open to scientists, professionals or students interested in a forum to discuss their respective scientific advances.

Objective of the Symposium
The objective of the symposium is to present and discuss various scientific topics related to the medicinal, aromatic and neutraceutical use of plants from mountainous areas. Growing at high elevation, these plants are considered to be rich in secondary metabolites and have been collected for centuries from wild. However, the amount of plants required by the industry has drastically increased in recent years and conservation of natural population can only be achieved by cultivation. In addition, domestication and selection of varieties provide well-suited genotypes with the desired phytochemical profiles, an optimum management in the field, as well as a sustainable source of raw material.

The Symposium will be conducted in English without translation service.
