Cheese
Around 170,000 tonnes of cheese per year are made in Switzerland, which corresponds to a good 40 per cent of the quantity of milk produced. Cheese production is therefore a business of considerable importance for the national economy. In the competitive battle with cheaper foreign cheese varieties, Swiss cheese has to make a mark for itself as a top quality premium product. ALP supports Swiss cheese makers in achieving this aim.

The solutions worked out by research are passed on to practitioners through the regular further training of regional advisors, in cheese-makers' discussion groups and through the advice provided by ALP.
