"Create knowledge for practice" is he slogan of AWC’s vegetable growing extension team who is addressing vegetable producers’ issues raised in the vegetable research forum. In this way vegetable producers’ organisations may partake in the decision making process as to which projects should be prioritized and to what depth such issues should be explored in order to implement new insights into practice as soon as results are available. At the time being our research work is aimed at finding sustainable solutions to plant protection issues. We are also establishing guidelines on reasonable and proper pesticide use (pesticide recommendations). Our plant and disease alert system provides producers with information that is supposed to support them in their assessment of the current plant protection situation and in adopting appropriate measures.
