In the context of Swiss agriculture, special crops such as berries and medicinal plants show a significant economic potential. Agroscope pays particular attention to the research and development aspects that favour sustainable production: varietal innovation, improvement of cultivation techniques, reduction of energy requirements for greenhouse crops, development of pest and disease control strategies, including biological control, and definition of product quality standards.
