We support the natural use of meadows and pasture and the development of sustainable grass and alpine economic systems. On the one hand, we promote the development of high-performing botanically stable phytomes suited to the site that provide rich feed and can meet most of the nutrient requirements of production animals. On the other hand, we develop schemes and methods for conserving non-intensive hay meadows with their diversity of species and the rough pasture which is valuable in nature conservation terms and provides feed for less demanding livestock that eat provender.
Our research focuses on the development of grazing systems and farming practices that enable competitive livestock production, thanks to high quality fodder produced in an efficient and economical way. The maintenance of the rural countryside, particularly the preservation of its biological and landscape diversity, is also taken into account.
